2025 WILDING PINE CONFERENCE UPDATE
Date: 10th July 2025
14-16 October 2025 – Twizel Events Centre
A warm welcome is extended to all our wilding whanau to extend the 2025 conference which is shaping up to be a cracker. We have been very fortunate to have a great planning team from Environment Canterbury, Wilding Free MacKenzie and MPI. Thanks also to all the people who have agreed to speak. We’d also like to acknowledge Haeleigh Turner who is our co organiser and has been invaluable with her organisational skills and local knowledge and contacts.
Registrations
We are planning to have registrations open in the next 2 weeks. Registration will be through the conference page on our website www.wildingpinenetwork.org.nz and look for the conference section. Please limit bookings to through this system as it keeps our admin costs down. There will be options to just attend the conference and add ons to also attend a field trip and dinner. We will send out another newsletter to advise when registrations are open.
Programme
Below is the final draft of our programme which has an innovation theme. Please note there are a few presentations which are still to be confirmed – they have TBC next to them.
Travel and accommodation
We will provide you with links to accommodation sites on our conference page but it’s wise to book early to get the best travel and accommodation rates. If you do wish to book accommodation now, we suggest you stay for 3 nights (14th, 15th and 16th) as our last day ends at 3pm and if you are flying airports are a few hours away (Christchurch approx. 3.5 hours, Queenstown approx. 2.5 hours). A good website to use is https://staymackenzie.co.nz/. Consider buddying up with a few people and hiring a car or minivan together to save costs. We have limited funding available to help people from community groups with travel – please contact Jo jo@wildingpinenetwork.org.nz. Funding will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Sponsorship
We are always grateful to those who can help keep our costs down by providing sponsorship whether it be funding or in kind. If you would like to contribute contact Jo on the above email address and review our sponsorship packages as below. We will acknowledge you on our website and in the programme, at the start and end of the conference and provide time for a quick pitch during the conference as well as a few other benefits as listed in the packages below. Our conference space is small so please consider a compact display if you wish to have one and let us know if you would like to include information in our delegate packs.
